Packages are shipped once a month to a platoon leader. The items are shipped via Priority Mail to New York City where it enters the APO military mail system. So, total time in transit is about 7 days.
2. I am against the war, does this support the war?
No, this program does not support the war, it supports Maryland's sons and daughters in harms way. A Taste of Home is completely apolitical and non partisan.
3. What items do you send.
The items sent are listed on the brochure. However, each group of men and women are asked what they would like. We then get them what they request. They can even request new release DVD movies. Overall, we try to get them those small things they miss most from home.
4. Can I send items directly to these men and women?
No, For security purposes, no names, email addresses, or APO addresses can be released. If you know individuals serving in dangerous and distant lands, you can put together your own packages and send directly (check with USPS for guidelines).
If you wish to send messages of support, visit our blog. Note that we will not allow negative messages to be posted on the blog.
